Sequel Natural's Vega Whole Food Smoothie Infusion Review

|

My husband and I have been using Vega's Whole food Health optimizer for the last couple of years for our post workout protein boost but never had the chance to try out their smoothie infusion.

I was excited to be given the opportunity recently to try out Sequel Natural's Vega Whole Foods Smoothie Infusion. It is an all in one powder that you use in addition to your favorite smoothie recipe. The powder is packed full of protein, fiber, Omega 3s and green foods.

Upon receiving the smoothie samples, I was immediately impressed with the list of ingredients as it is not only full of whole foods but is  free of common allergens such as corn, dairy, gluten, soy, wheat and yeast.

Ingredients: Yellow pea protein,
organic hemp protein, organic sprouted flax seeds,
organic brown rice protein, organic green food blend (spirulina,
organic wheat grass, organic alfalfa grass, organic
barley grass, organic spinach, organic sprouted
broccoli, organic kale, organic kelp, organic
dulse), inulin (from chicory root), natural fl avors,
xanthan gum.

The nutritional facts on the back of the package showed some impressive numbers. 1 serving of Vega will provide you with 14 grams of protein, 4.5 grams of fat, 1 gram of sugar, 30% of the recommended daily intake of iron and 120 calories. Not bad!

Using this product, I made a smoothie using the following:

1/4 cup (1 serving) or Vega
1 cup water
1 cup orange juice
1 banana
1/4 cup frozen blueberries
1/4 cup mixed frozen berries
1/4 cup fresh strawberries
1/2 tsp vanilla extract

My 3 year old daughter and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The taste was mild and pleasant. I would recommend using a mix of flavorful fruits if you are sensitive to anything that tastes a little "green".  Its a wonderful, quick way to provide a nutrient dense breakfast or snack for your family.
