Dany Mercado, a twenty six year old man from Kitchener, Ontario was dying from leaukemia until his life was saved in January 2008 with a bone marrow transplant from a Texan man. Yesterday he met 30 year old, Wesley Hamilton from Abilene Texas who's generosity gave him a second chance at life. Both families met at the Barbara Karmanos Cancer Center in Detroit to help publicize the Be The Match registry.

Mercado is a mechanical engineering student at Conestoga College. He calls Hamilton his "angel and "superhero".
